Traditional Mud Cloth (Bogolanfini)
Origin: Mali, West Africa

This authentic mud cloth is created using a labor-intensive process passed down through generations. Hand-spun cotton is woven into narrow strips—each approximately 5" wide—and then stitched together to form a wrap-sized textile, traditionally worn as a skirt or lapa.

The entire cloth is dyed in a tea made from the bark of the Bogalon tree, which acts as a natural fixative for the hand-painted designs applied with specially prepared mud. Each piece is completely handmade, making it truly one of a kind.

Material: 100% Cotton
